1976 Harley-Davidson "Shovel"

This is one of Richard's very first projects. This
motorcycle started out as a burned up basket case, also it was
involved in an accident.
What was left of this motorcycle was found sitting in someone's
back yard. Richard brought it back to life after spending
approx. $13,000. One of the first things Richard
learned, was that bringing a basket case back to life can be
expensive.
Starting from the front of the motorcycle, a Fat Boy Front end
was installed first. Other parts incorporated into this
project from the Harley Fat Boy were wheels, floorboards, fuel
tanks, front fender. The engine was totally rebuilt along with
the trans. and primary. The frame was kept stock, it was
checked for straightness and then powder coated. When this
project was completed the end result was a reliable 74" Shovel
Head that could be ridden every day.
